Since there are annual checkups with the nurse, there should be a check up with a psychologist as well since it can be challenging for some to reach out for help on their own. However I think check ups with a psychologist should happen more often than the nurse, since mental health is as important as physical health if not more important. And there are many ways to check up on students like forms inquiry, students won't necessarily be truthful. Schools should be mental health issue friendly, teachers would give positive feedback even for the smallest things and won't have an interrogation if you miss school for the sake of your mental health. We think small things like that will make a huge difference in the long run and students will overall be happier at school since schools are viewed as a negative thing and it's what causes teenagers mental health issues in the first place. Making the environment more positive will somewhat prevent them and we think that's a thing to focus on.
